Damage Protection Waiver

What It Is

The Damage Protection Waiver (DPW) is an optional protection plan automatically applied to your rental order at 10% of the rental subtotal. This waiver relieves you of financial responsibility for accidental damage to rented equipment during normal use.

You may decline the DPW at checkout. If declined, you will be fully responsible for all repair and replacement costs.

The DPW is not insurance. It is an optional protection plan that covers accidental damage to rented equipment.

Coverage

Orders under $2,500: Up to $750 in accidental damage coverage
Orders $2,500 and above: Up to $1,750 in accidental damage coverage

What's Covered

The DPW covers accidental damage during normal, intended use:

  • Bent or damaged table legs and frames
  • Scratched, dented, or torn chairs
  • Minor tears or scuffs to furniture
  • Broken yard game pieces during play
  • Chipped, cracked, or broken décor items
  • Linen stains from food, beverages, or makeup

Normal wear and tear from your event is expected and covered.

What's NOT Covered

  • Missing or stolen items – Full replacement value will be charged. Items must be returned to receive DPW protection. Missing items returned within 30 days will receive a refund of replacement charges.
  • Misuse, abuse, or negligence – Damage from improper use, dropping items, or rough handling
  • Burns and heat damage – From candles, cigarettes, chafing fuel, hot pans, or dishes
  • Linen tears – Rips, holes, or shredding (stains are covered)
  • Third-party transportation damage – Damage by couriers or delivery services outside of Superior Event Rentals

Your Responsibilities

  • All damaged items must be returned for assessment
  • Items not returned will be charged at full replacement value
  • Equipment must be returned in the same condition as received, except for ordinary wear and tear
  • You are responsible for proper care of all rented items during your rental period
